 How does it work?

I provide you with the incubator, the eggs and the brooder equipment for the newly hatched chicks. I also provide a step by step guide on how to troubleshoot the incubator and what to expect each step of the way. The incubation period takes 21 days and the hatching can happen over the course of 12-36 hours. We offer a 6 egg and a 12 egg incubator. You may keep the chicks for a few days or forever, that is up to you. All rentals must be returned to us by the return date or your credit card will be charged as per our credit card authorization agreement that will be sent with a contract to your e-mail after you've paid your deposit.

What happens to the chicks?

The chicks are available to keep at no additional cost or they can be returned to us. The chicks that come back to the farm  join our free range flock of egg layers until we find them new farms. If you are interested in purchasing chicks from our hatching program but do not want to partake in the hatching process please e-mail us to be added to our chick list. 

What do baby chicks need?

They require a safe cage or box with tall walls, food, fresh water and a source of heat. We like to use brooder plates, which are small ceramic plates the chicks can go under to stay warm. These are the most fire safe option for heat, we try to avoid heat lamps or heating pads. We will provide you with everything needed to get the chicks off to a healthy start in life. The set up is safe for indoors so you do not need an outdoor space for the chicks. If the chicks get cold they will die and they are often targeted by racoons as easy meals so please ensure you have a safe indoor space ready for the hatching project!

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure your spot. This comes out of the total amount due at time of pick up. A date is NOT secure until the deposit is received. Dates are available on a first come, first served basis. Please ensure the date you select is the correct one as all deposits are non-refundable, you may change the date if another date is available but we will not return your deposit if the date you selected no longer works for you.

Available Dates will go on sale on January 26th 2025 at 10am.

6 Eggs: $175 plus HST

12 Eggs: $200 plus HST

Please note, you are required to arrange pick up of the equipment and drop off of the chicks & equipment by the return date listed on your contract. Eggs are time sensitive and if you do not stick to the hatching schedule your money will not be refunded for failure to pick up the eggs or set up the equipment on time. We cannot provide eggs more than 2 days prior to set up as they start to lose viability. We do provide you with a PDF document with everything you need to know about the incubator and the 21-day process. We are always available by text for emergency questions that may arise during the process.

If any part of the incubator is lost or broken during your rental period to the point that it is no longer in working usable condition for the next hatch your credit card will be charged for replacement.
