For the safety of our animals we currently do not allow any outside animals on property. Please e-mail us if you require accommodation and we can try to find a solution.
This is our home and we are not open using regular business hours. We are not a commercial property so Farmer Christie or Catherine are not always available to conduct visits. We also allow visitors to feed the animals so by limiting the visits to a certain amount of people and time per day we ensure they are not over fed. We also do not want to overwhelm them with too many people so we ensure each time slot is kept at a manageable capacity.
Yes, Carlos is always in the barnyard with me but we can have up to 5 dogs out at any time. This is there home too, you are a guest here. The dogs will not be put away so if you are afraid this may not be a good experience for you.
Please wear closed toe shoes to avoid having your toes stepped on. We also suggest long pants as you will get climbed on by goats. Please don't wear anything fancy or anything you do not wish to get stained. It is a real working farm so you will encounter hooves, poop, mud and more!
When interacting with large animals it is important to understand their body language. All of our large animals are kind and friendly but if they become startled or feel threatened they will react as animals do. We never want to put anyone in harm's way so it is safest for both the animals and the visitors if interaction occurs through the fences.
We have a porta-potty for public use. Anyone caught urinating elsewhere will be asked to leave immediately with no refund and a lifetime ban.
The barnyard is all flat grass so we have had many wheelchair bound or walker using visitors navigate the terrain with ease. There are no wheelchair ramps into the barn but the animals tend to go to the visitors instead of the visitors needing to go to them. Farmer Christie is also a nurse with the geriatric community and is happy to assist to ensure anyone who may be using assistive devices get an opportunity to see all the animals.
We are very understanding and appreciate communication. You may cancel your visit for a full refund with 48 hours or more notice. Anything less than 48 hours notice will be refunded as a farm credit only. No shows forfeit their payment and will not be given a refund or farm credit.
